La Bottega Orafa Penko, che si innesta nella grande e plurisecolare tradizione fiorentina dell’artigianato prezioso, nasce nella prima metà degli anni ’80 intorno alla figura del Maestro d’Arte Paolo Penco.
Il negozio, situato nel cuore della città di Firenze, a pochi passi dal Duomo, già nell’insegna di “bottega” intende qualificare la propria attività che è prevalentemente mirata a mantenere in vita ed a “gelosamente” tramandare tecniche di lavorazione tipiche dell’arte orafa fiorentina quali il traforo, l’incisione, il “cesoro” e il “niello”, ormai quasi del tutto scomparso.
Il Maestro Paolo Penco fiorentino per nascita, dotato di un’alta sensibilità artistica e di una profonda conoscenza delle tecniche orafe, ha assimilato dalla sua Città natale tutto il fascino dell’Arte Rinascimentale, divenendo un profondo conoscitore di questo periodo storico a cui s’ispirano molti dei suoi gioielli.
Lo “Stile Fiorentino” in senso lato è, infatti, la fonte primaria della sua ispirazione che spesso richiama le volute, i fregi e le piccole geometrie usate dai grandi maestri dell’architettura fiorentina del ‘400 e ‘500.
