The History of the University
 Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction is one of the premier state-financed institutions of higher education. Founded in 1920 to serve not only Azerbaijan but also the region, as a Civil Engineering Faculty affiliated to Baku State University. With assistance of the national leader of Azerbaiisan Gendar Aliev In 1975, it started to operate as an independent institute. As a result of its high achievements in producing high quality staff, (for Azerbaijan) it became a University in 1992. In 2000 its name was changed to Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
University and City
Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction is located in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. It is situated in the centre of the city. The studying base of the University is being strengthened year by year. Currently, there are 5 study buildings totally 49000 square metres.
Teaching
There are post-graduate courses and doc torate in the University. There are regularly highlighted by the large circulation journals, scientific works:
Theory and applied mechanics, Ecology and water supply, and Urbanism.
International perspective
Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction has traditionally attached great importance to strengthening international academic exchange and cooperation. The department of Educating Foreign Students and the Preparatory Department for Foreign Students have been established for that purpose. So far, more than 1500 foreign students have completed their education and over 50 foreign students have obtained their doctoral degrees.
Student life
 It has 5 separate buildings covering 49000m2. A great deal of work has been done to improve the quality of the lecture hall, classrooms, and sport clubs. The departments are equipped with the modern teaching aids and computers to give quality architectural and engineering education.
